The experience
A day aboard, honestly described.
There is no programme. There is a rhythm, and the rhythm is the point.
Morning
Coffee on deck around 8. Someone is already in the water. Breakfast is bread from last night's harbour, fruit, yoghurt, eggs if the hostess is in the mood. We leave the bay between 9.30 and 10.
Sailing
Three to four hours, sails up whenever the wind is honest. You can take the helm or a winch, or you can lie on the trampoline. Lunch is a big salad or pasta, eaten at anchor in the next bay.
Afternoon
Swim, snorkel, paddle to the beach, sleep. Some days a walk ashore: a lighthouse, a Roman villa, a market. Nobody is counted.
Evening
Aperitivo at 7 as the light goes. Dinner aboard most nights, cooked by the hostess with what the coast gave us, sometimes with a guest at the stove. Two or three nights in a harbour with dinner ashore, paid separately. Lights out when people want them out.
What we do, and what we do not
We do
Cook. Choose bays for the wind. Teach you to sail if you want to. Book the one restaurant that matters. Take you snorkelling where there is something to see. Keep the fund transparent.
We do not
Run a party. Sell excursions. Put strangers in the same cabin. Sail in weather the skipper does not like. Pretend the sea has no rules.
