FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
I get seasick. Is a catamaran better?
Usually, yes: two hulls roll far less than one. We also sail short legs and stop in sheltered water. Bring your usual remedy and tell the skipper; the first day is planned to be gentle.
Can I come completely alone?
Yes. You have a double cabin to yourself at the per-guest price; we do not pair strangers in a cabin. On a Social week most guests come alone or as a pair.
How are Social groups put together?
With the Oblige Compass, twelve questions about rhythm, activity, quiet, food, wine and smoke. We match people who want the same kind of week. Before you confirm you see the group's shape: number of solo travellers and pairs, age range, countries.
What is the €200 service & welcome fee?
per guest. It covers professional cleaning before and after the charter, bed linen and bath towels, plus a personal welcome kit with beach towel, slippers and courtesy kit. It is fixed, not a shared kitty, and is separate from the cash fund.
What exactly is the cash fund?
per guest, paid on boarding into a shared kitty that pays for food and drink aboard, fuel, moorings, harbour nights and marine-park fees. The hostess keeps the receipts in the saloon; the remainder is split and returned on the last evening.
Who is in charge? What if the weather is bad?
A professional skipper who owns the boat. If the forecast is wrong for a crossing we change the route, not the safety margin. A week in the Tuscan islands can always be sailed; a Corsica crossing can be replaced by more Elba.
Can children come?
On Private weeks, yes, from about 10 and if they swim confidently; ask us about younger children. Social weeks are for adults.
What about smoking, alcohol, diets?
Smoking outside only, downwind, and the Compass asks so that smokers and people who mind are not put on the same Social week. Alcohol is at dinner, never a programme. Tell us about diets and allergies when you book; the hostess cooks around them.
How do I pay and what if I cancel?
Nothing is charged on this site. After your request we confirm availability and send the terms: a deposit to hold the week, the balance eight weeks before departure. Cancellation terms are in the contract you receive before paying anything. We are in our first season and we write them to be fair and simple.
Where do I fly to?
Argentario weeks: Rome Fiumicino, then train or car to Orbetello (about 1h30). Bonifacio weeks: Figari airport (20 minutes) or Olbia with a ferry from Santa Teresa.
Is this a real operation?
It is a real plan for the 2027 season, run by a skipper-owner and a hostess with one catamaran. We are opening requests now to plan the season around real demand. We will not show reviews we do not have.
